The Creation of a Classic
This story is a celebration of David C. Stewart MBE’s creativity and inventiveness, when he created The Balvenie Classic – and in doing so, pioneered wood finishing. It is also the story of the team who helped him, through patience and perseverance, to try something new, and create something exceptional.
In creating The Balvenie Classic in 1982, David pioneered cask finishing. This has led to decades of innovation in the Scotch malt whisky industry. 
The Balvenie Classic is back. Aged in American Oak, and then finished, once again, in sherry casks. The Creation of a Classic celebrates David's creativity.
THE RESULT
A sweet and syrupy expression of THE BALVENTE with a touch of vanilla oak and ginger spiciness, finished in sherry casks.
