The Bruichladdich Islay Barley 2013 is a farm-to-glass single malt made from grain grown within 10 miles of the distillery! It is matured in a combination of first-fill bourbon barrels and wine casks, giving it a rich and fruity flavor profile with notes of vanilla, oak spice, yellow fruits, citrus, and coastal minerality.
Maturation in 75% first-fill Bourbon barrels and 25% wine casks.

Tasting notes:
Honeyed malt with vanilla pods. Clotted cream and biscuits. Custard creams. Black peppercorns. Drying oak around the sides of the tongue. Slight saltiness. Dry, malty finish.
Smell: Malt, Straw, Vanilla, Clotted cream, Lemongrass, Honey on oatcakes, Subtle citrus, New oak and Sawdust.
