Close to smoked malted barley, Caol Ila is also marine, vegetal, oily, and peaty. The independent Signatory Vintage also offer beautiful versions of this single malt. The large onion-shaped stills of the Caol Ila distillery explain to a large extent the rather light and very fine character of this single malt.
Like The Un-Chillfiltered Collection, the whiskies in the Very Cloudy range are bottled from small batches of two to five casks. Reduced to 43% without chill filtration or colouring, they have a rich, highly aromatic profile and a slightly cloudy appearance.
